Q: How important is the diet?

A: If you want maximum results, it’s everything.  Personally, I found that after a intense workout like P90X or Insanity, I wanted to replenish my body with healthy food.  A good diet came naturally once I started working out.

Q: I just started P90X. Do you have any good advice?

A:  Show up everyday.  Even if when you are tired, even if you don’t have time…just put in the DVD and push play.  You’ll be surprised what energy you’ll find, and how good you’ll feel after you’ve finished (even if you don’t!).  Also, start slow the first couple of weeks.  Don’t push yourself too hard if you have not worked out in a long time.  You’ll build stamina, you’ll get strong, you’ll feel stronger – and quickly.  If you follow a good diet and do this workout, you’re life will improve, guaranteed.

Show up, follow the nutrition guide, and you’ll be great.

Q: Is it OK to drink coffee?

A: Yes (I enjoy a nice hot cup every morning).  Is it the best thing to put in your body when you wake up?  Maybe not, but it’s a small vice in the big picture.  Focus on showing up everyday and getting your heart rate up.  Drink your water.

Q: Is it OK to drink alcohol?

A: I enjoy a glass of red wine with dinner now and then.  Same answer as above with coffee.  Enjoy a glass now and then, but don’t over do it.

Final thought:  Show up everyday…workout 6x a week with a Beachbody program.  Enjoy yourself and have a cheat day no more than 1x a week.  Pizza, Ice Cream…whatever you want.  But try to limit the size and quantity.  Drink water, and if possible, give up soda completely.
